Confirm flange type, standard and drawing basis

List size, pressure rating, material and quantity

Attach inspection and certificate requirements early

Include destination country and packing expectations

Practical Checklist

Use this list before sending drawings or line items for quotation review.

Flange type: weld neck, slip-on, blind, socket weld, threaded, lap joint or custom drawing

Standard or drawing: ASME B16.5, EN, DIN, GOST or project-specific drawing

Size: NPS or DN, plus bore if the drawing is not standard

Pressure rating: Class, PN or project pressure requirement

Material grade and condition, such as ASTM A105, A105N or A350 LF2

Facing and connection details: RF, RTJ, FF, bore, bolt pattern and tolerance notes

Quantity, required delivery destination and needed-by date

Inspection documents: MTC 3.1, dimensional report, PMI, UT, MT, PT or third-party inspection

Common RFQ Mistakes

These points often cause repeated clarification, price revisions or document mismatch.

  • Sending only a product name without standard, size or pressure rating
  • Mixing DN, NPS, PN and Class references without a drawing or specification
  • Leaving facing, bore or bolt pattern unclear for non-standard requirements
  • Requesting certificate or inspection documents only after price discussion
  • Omitting destination country, packing requirement or third-party inspection need
